How Should We Approach Children's "Unwanted Hair"? A Talk Event Supporting Parents' Concerns "A Hair-Care Class for Children That Parents Should Know About" Held Also introducing this spring's "Rei Beauté Cool Power"

YA-MAN LTD. (headquarters: Koto-ku, Tokyo; Representative Director and President: Kimiyo Yamazaki) held "A Hair-Care Class for Children That Parents Should Know About" on Friday, March 27, at the global flagship store "YA-MAN the store GINZA." Against the backdrop of the falling age at which hair removal is considered, the class was held to raise awareness of hair care and share the latest information.

On the day, Tomoko Okamoto, Editor-in-Chief of Kodansha's with class (center in photo), and Miho Kuboi, Deputy General Manager of the Development Division at YA-MAN LTD. (left in photo), took the stage and explained key points parents should know such as how to communicate with children who worry about unwanted hair, and the appropriate age to begin hair care.

■ 65% of parents answered that their child "is conscious of unwanted hair"
In a pre-event survey asking participants, "Is your child conscious of unwanted hair?", 65% of parents answered "yes." Even among younger children, such as first- to third-graders, multiple parents reported that their child "is conscious of it," suggesting that awareness of unwanted hair is emerging earlier. In the talk session, Ms. Okamoto commented, "Many say their child became conscious of unwanted hair through lessons such as ballet or swimming." It was suggested that children often become conscious of unwanted hair through occasions requiring more revealing clothing, or by comparing themselves with friends - a point participants strongly related to. YA-MAN's Kuboi stated, "Precisely because information is now so diverse, it's important for parents to gain correct knowledge and guide their children," emphasizing the need to provide accurate information at home.

■ The "Rei Beauté" series - home IPL devices that parents and children can use with peace of mind
Ms. Okamoto, who tried the "Rei Beauté Cool Power" beforehand, said, "For parents and children who are busy with lessons and homework, a home IPL device you can use at home is attractive in terms of cost performance, too." YA-MAN's Kuboi noted that while cosmetic medicine and salon hair removal can also be expected to be effective, some find having to visit in line with the hair-growth cycle to be a hurdle, and said that being able to care at home is a major advantage. YA-MAN's "Rei Beauté Cool Power" is high-power yet equipped with a cooling function, achieving gentle¹ care. It also uses light that delivers both hair suppression and skin² beauty, so parents and children can use it with peace of mind. Ms. Okamoto proposed home hair care as an option to the audience: "If a home IPL device can resolve a child's worries and help draw out their confidence, I think it's a smart investment." She concluded that what matters most is respecting the child's own feelings, and that communication close to the child is important.

※When a child uses a home IPL device, use it with the parent's consent and under the supervision of a parent or a specialist. *¹ Reduced stimulation when irradiating with the cooling function turned on. *² Making hair less noticeable through continued use.
