YA-MAN Wins ‘Rising Stars’ at Japan Branding Awards 2021

Beauty device manufacturer YA-MAN LTD. (CEO: Kimiyo Yamazaki,headquarters: Koto-ku, Tokyo) won ‘Rising Stars’ award at Japan Branding Awards 2021, organized by Interbrand Japan, Inc.(President & CEO: Masahito Namiki, headquarters: Shibuya-ku, Tokyo), the biggest branding consulting company in Japan. The ‘Rising Stars’ award is given to brands that create significant growth through branding, with excellent originality.

Japan Branding Awards was established by Interbrand Japan in 2018 to honor the excellent branding activities of organizations (corporations, groups, services, and products) and introduce them to the world to support their continuing growth. The ceremonies were held for the fourth time this year.

YA-MAN has been developing its business mainly in the professional salon market as a beauty device manufacturer, with its unique and innovative technologies. We have expanded our business to home-care beauty device category, and we have been working on a rebranding project since our 40th anniversary in 2018.

YA-MAN has received the award for activities that have been discussed and implemented across all departments, thanks to the organization's DNA of quick adaptation for changes. These activities are based on our founding philosophy of being a ‘technology oriented company,’ derived from the spirit of ‘invention of new beautifulness.’ All of these qualities are essential to achieving further growth as a global brand.

 Highly valued for the fact that all employees are working together on rebranding and achieving tangible business results. It is particularly commendable that YA-MAN’s agile and practical approach, which larger companies may find difficult to implement, realized transformation of the external brand recognition in a short period of 3 years, and brought the beauty device category up to the next level.

 YA-MAN took practical and output-oriented approaches that involved employees from the beginning of the project, fostered empathy, and promoted brand penetration by emphasizing dialogue rather than binding with strict guidelines and rules in the execution phase. This is a successful example of creating good synergy between a company’s corporate culture and business model. Each media and external communication strategy has been elaborated on and undertaken with a pragmatic approach

 Our branding efforts are continuing in various areas. ‘FACE LIFT GYM,’ a facial training gym using our products and ‘HYOJO Science Lab’ project are to expand contact points with customers through developments of unique and diverse hands-on type businesses. Our branding includes an evaluation process of new product developments and personnel evaluations.

 YA-MAN will continue to strive to bring further paradigm shift to beauty routines of customers not only in Japan but also overseas with its advanced technologies and innovative ideas. YA-MAN will keep on committing to its corporate slogan ‘a new beautiful (setting a new standard of beauty).’
